What kind of algae is this?

I am getting this kind of algae, and don't know how to get rid of it.

I have chaeto in refugium, and PO4 = 0.02 (checker)

Cyano- aka Red Slime algae. I have the same in my reef tank. I syphon it almost daily.

ahh. It's not red, and they are not on the sand bed. Never thought of it as red slime.
It will be painful to syphon everyday.

Is there another way?

The red slime is on the high flow area, and my PO4 is 0.02. I guess really have to cut down on feeding.

If you do go this route do alot of reading before using it.

I will try reduce feeding and increase flow. Using red slime remover will be the last option. Thanks

Do you dose aminos, vodka or any zeo products? If so, you may want to decrease your dosage.

no, I don't dose anything. I heard that dosing vodka caused red slime.

There are a few more patches, and they come back again and again.

they co-exist in aquarium tank. they grow faster when you feed more whereas they grow slower when you feed lesser. i'll scrub them out of the tank as scrub phosphate/nitrogen compounds out of the tank. a UV sterilizer may kill their seeds in order to reduce their growth. red slime grow in my tank no matter how i dose or do not dose vodka.
