Hello, can anyone tell me what kind of algae I have growing here. I did a water change on Sunday, checked my parameters last two days and been steady at the levels below. Tank has been running for 3 weeks but came with 50% of the water from fellow who solde the tank.

Sg: 1.024
Ph: 8.1
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0

I don't have a name for you, but what your seeing will most likely turn purple over time. (Coralline algae)

Just normal green film algae.. Its absolutely a totally normal part of a new tank...
Expect diatoms, green film or hair algae and even some cyano..
Thats again TOTALLY normal part of a new tank process covered in any article about how to setup a tank.. (or should be if it isn't)..

As long as you keep working to keep nitrates and phosphates very low and just continue with proper tank maintenance (water changes/low nutrient levels) it will just pass..
We call it the "ugly stages" of a new tank.. brown/green/red yuck making the rock look ugly.. but it goes away.

again.. totally normal..

Now.. Any new tank article should also stress that its not a good idea (even more so with a newbie) to be putting corals into a new tank...
The tank is just not "mature" enough to be a good stable environment for corals..
Stability is the key to successful reef keeping..

I suggest you slow down a bit and do a little learning on the basics of a saltwater tank before you get ahead of yourself..
