what kind of algae is this?

Its all over my new tank. It emerged after the brown diatoms. It grows fast too. When I wipe it off the back wall, it settles right back on it. It wipes off fairly easily. It might be easing up now.???

looks like hair algae, check phosphates for it to grow that thick that quickly I would say there high Ive been fighting it for over a year now

Yeah hair algae? The individual stalks have feathered branches. Is that hair algae? I am using RO/DI only.

try a tang or sea hare they help. also running some type of phosphate remover phosban or rowa phos also will help. check the tds on your ro di. is it 0?

I think it has stopped. What the snails and I are removing is not being replaced. It seems. I'll keep my fingers crossed, do a water changeand maybe buy a TDS meter. Hopefully it was a part of the new tank cycle until parameters stabilized.
