Hey guys, I picked this up awhile back and don't even know what it is :( Could anyone please tell me...It has an orange body with this yellow top. Very cool looking, but I would really like to know what it is so I can look it up and do a little research to make sure i am taking care of it properly....thanks!

I think it is one of the H. malu-like anemones that have been showing up over the last year or so. Strong lighting and regular feeding of fish/krill/shrimp/whatever it will eat for you. Try some searches for "malu" or "carnation anemone", should come up with some good info.

I concur with Mark. That would be Heteractis malu. The common name sebae is usually used to refer to both H. malu and H. crispa.

Hey guys, here's a side view of the anemone, i've still been unable to find any solid information on this guy....he's about the size of a golf ball and i have been spot feeding him once a day, any idea if he prefers the sand or higher up on the rock?

I have an H. crispa, and from the answers above, it appears you have an H. malu. I'm guessing here, but the crispas seem to like sand, or at least the feel of their foot being burried, I would guess the same would be true of your malu.
But, just because our nems (or any of the things in our tank) are supposed to act a certain way, it doens't mean they will! They are, after all, in a brand new envirionment, and the rules can change. Even though these seem to like the sand, right now mine has its foot securely placed in a rock, that's next to another rock, but at least it feels like it's burried I guess!
Good luck!
