Im sorry im a newbie what does RBTA stand for, and what do you mean by bleached?

RBTA stands for Rose Bubble Tip Anenome
aka Entacmaea Quadricolor

by bleached he means that the animal has expelled most of its hosting zooxanthella and lost nearly all of its color.

the symbiotic relationship between an anenome and its zooxanthella is very important as the anenome derives a lot of nutrients from the photosynthesis that the zooxanthella perform...

these anenomes need some care and patience. good feeding and excellent water conditions should see them filled with zoox again... good luck!

The links provided are a great source of info. Karen has nursed many bleached bta's back to health, and her site is full of pictures.

FYI - there are a few colors of bta's out there, so the first letter will usually tell you if it's rose colored (rbta), green (gbta) or neither (bta).

Here is a pic I took of my rose a couple nights ago, you can see how the color is different from the two you posted, where the bleaching is.

You said you're new, so welcome to the addiction of anemones :)

Just a word of caution though. You said you're new, and your signature and registration date reflect this also. Anemones are not the easiest animals to take care of. Most people recommend you wait a minimum of 6 months after your tank has cycled before adding a nem. This gives the tank time to mature, as well as the reefer. We were all begininers at one point and needed to learn good husbandry skills, and understand our tanks better. Your tank may not be the best place for these nems, especially in their condition. If I have misjudged the age of your tank, or your husbandry skills, I apologize. I'm looking out for these nems that can't look out for themselves. Maybe they're not even in your tank and you were just curious - so many possibilities :)

Have fun and enjoy the ride! :)
