What kind of camera to buy

This is my first time in the photography forum....Hello everyone.

I currently have a midrange Cannon Point and shoot camera that works great for pictures of people but I just can’t get it to take correct tank pictures. I know little to nothing about photography but I’m good with electronics and learn fast.

So basically I’m looking for options for a camera that will take great Tank pictures, I will also use it for vacations and things like that. I was looking at the Digital rebel but not sure if that’s even remotely the right choice.

Hopefully I can get some good input.

Rebel would be a good choice. You need a fairly fast lens to take fish pics, I'm assuming that's what you want. And if you want to take macro pictures, that will run you another $300+.

What model is your current camera, maybe we can offer suggestions to improve your tank photos. Simply buying a new camera alone doesn't necessarily mean you will get better tank photos.
