What kind of clam?

I have 2 150 W HQIs and 2 120W PCs. My tank is 24 in. deep, making the sandbed about 28 in. from the light. Is there any clam I can keep in the sand bed that will hold its color ok, or is the sand bed not an option?

I actually have a crocea now that is high up on a rock. It has grown about 1/2-3/4 in. scince I got it a couple months ago, so I have a little clam experience.

Here it is

I'm not a big fan of Derasa, but squamosa are pretty cool. Problem is finding one around here that isn't 5 or 6 in accross and 150 - 200$.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions! Is there anything else possible knowing that I have some experience with clams?

you could do a maxima in the rockwork or another crocea, look online for so e squammosas they are somewhat cheapish

I love croceas and maximas also, but I want a clam in the sand. I think the light is too far away from the sandbed for a crocea or maxima.

gigas grow WAY too fast for a 90, it would take up your whole tank in a few years.

I actually dont know any that are reliable because I have never bought anything off the internet before (livestock wise). Has anyone bought any clams from fishsupply before?

o well some people that are in my local club the BRS find marinedepotlive.com and liveaquaria.com very reliable
also clamsdrirect.com but they are temporarily not selling any clams
Hope this helps
