I bought this eel not knowing what it is but because the lady in the store barely spoke any english and didnt even know the right price so I got it for less than half of what I have seen other eels sell for.

From what I have read on the internet it is either a Chainlink Moray Eel or a Tiger Eel.( dont know if that is the same thing )

Also I have read that you should only feed it 2 - 3 times a week but this little thing goes crazy as soon as I put food for the fish in the water and then it wants to eat, so I feed him a small piece of Krill every day ... today it had two pieces because one of the krills fell out of my anemone and he grabbed it.

He also seems to be OK with all my fish, including my cleaner shrimp, I have seen him nip at one of my clows but only because he wanted the food the glown had.

I'm pretty sure it is a chain link moray. Here is a good article from Reefkeeping on fish safe eels. It includes a section on the chain link moray. Since these eels can get close to 3 feet, you will have to consider a tank size upgrade eventually, should you choose to keep it.

Thanks.... it is for sure a Chainlink moray eel although the one site say it is reef safe and the other one say it is not.
Also this eel is not as shy as the websites say as you can see in my pictures.

Chain links are similar to Snowflakes in diet. Lots of shellfish, i.e. shrimp and crabs. They won't bother corals, so are reef safe as far as that is concerned, but will eat ornamental shrimp and any crabs in your clean up crew ;)

So you think mine has been fed non alive food for to long to be interested in my crabs and cleaner shrimp or what is the reason why he is not going after his natural food source in my tank ?

The cleaner shrimp might be alright since they were established first, and usually the cleaners get left alone for the most part. The other crabs are just a matter of time ;) You will want to vary the eels diet, too much krill leads to problems. A nice mix of shrimp from the seafood market, bits of clam and squid, and even the occasional silverside are good for them.

Nice eel. I like how he is out, and not hiding.
You should remove that green bubble algae in the second pic before it becomes a problem.
