And to follow up, Mandarins are notoriously for starving in many home aquariums. These hunt for pods all day, so you ideally need a large tank with a productive refugium. Some will except prepared foods, some won't.

+1

I jsut added one to my tank 3 weeks ago and I added 3000 pods from reef 2 go to my display and about 1500 to my sump, and since it doesnt eat what I feed the tank, I worry about it not finding enough food. I see him eating all day, although I never actually see the pods it eats, so who knows. Good luck w it!

I have been lucky to have raised a pair in a 93 gallon cube which both now feed on pellets, flake, brine and Nano foods. Both are very fat and happy. 5 yrs old
