What kind of food do you keep at home?

Hello guys,

I currently have 2 clownfish and 2 chromis that made their red carpet entry to my DT yesterday after TMM and QT (first fish in the tank :dance. I have 2 tangs now wrapping up TTM in the next few days.

My LFS gave me (well, sold me) small pellets and frozen brine shrimp which I've been feeding to the fish during until now. I also got some seaweed leaves for the tangs.

is this appropriate food or should I get something else?

I would add mysis shrimp to your feedings. I personally use selcon and vitachem in all frozen food too.

i stock lots of stuff:

PE Myses
Hikari Myses
SeaChem Red Flakes
SeaChem Green Flakes
Nutramar Ova
Rod's Food
Daphne
Blood Worms
Several different kinds of pellets.
Brine Shrimp (can be read to feed in about 2 or 3 days)
PE Calanus
Nori

i like having variety for new arrivals in case they're being difficult with feeding. my ever day is a mix of pe and hikari myses soaked in selcon. i feed flakes a few times a week, and use the others as needed with picky eaters.

I always have Reef Frenzy, Formula 1 Flakes and Formula 2 pellets (small) on hand at all times, as well as nori sheets from the local Asian market. It's cheaper and less brittle than the stuff my LFS has.

I feed LRS fish frenzy, It has everything in one package. I also keep a "soft freeze" jar of capelin roe on hand if I do not feel like defrosting the LRS.

Every once in awhile I will get some live blackworms, live brine, live clam, or other random food to toss in.

Eggs, bread, milk, beef, chicken, flank steak, corn, french cut green beans, scalloped potatoes, string cheese, olives and beer to name a few..

yes..:lmao: people in NC are goofy about that... (Chicago native here) and I laugh my arse off when the "threat" of snow happens and the stores are stripped of bread and milk..

When I first moved here we were renting a Uhaul to move from our temp apartment to our new home.. There was a dusting of snow starting and the Uhaul guy said "sorry we aren't allowing uhauls out anymore"..
I simply said "But I'm from Chicago" and he said "oh... sorry about that.. no problem then" and handed me the keys and away I went with the Uhaul..

When it snows here in NC a few of us um... "good drivers" actually go around and pick up all the other employees that won't drive at all in it.. No snow day for them..

When it "snows" here, they tend to close the base, so I don't have to report in. Definitely a perk, 'cause I'm not putting chains on my car, or risking it to other idjits on the road, and definitely not driving the wife's ride into work.
