I have a 54gallon corner bowfront reef. What kind of skimmer would you guys reccommend? I was looking at the seaclone 150 or the Prizm Deluxe. By, the way, I don't have a sump.

I have about the same water volume and looking for a skimmer too. I have a sump but it's a brute trash can with already 3 mags in the bottom... no place for a skimmer that needs to sin in sump. Looking forward to see sujestions too!

Don't get the seaclone or Prizm. Go with the coralife super skimmers. They cost a tiny bit more but work better.

BEST HOT skimmer (by a mile) is the Deltec MCE600. It does cost more than the others, but it is worth it.

I like the Aqua C remora as well.

Also like CPR Bak Paks...they have newer models that are both a refugium and a skimmer...that would be good

I have a seaclone and it works fine. Do NOT get the prizm. Worst skimmer I have ever had in any of my tanks, hands down.

I ordered a CSS 65 yesterday night... Cheap and I heard good comments about it. I could've got the 125 but it was almost twice the price. Well I'll give it a try.

The Coral Life Skimmers look interesting. I have a problem with space in my 20g high sump for my 40g. Would hanging it on a sump work?

Never mind. It appears from the link I can do so. Does that go for other skimmers as well?

Some do and some don't... Just look at the specs. I plan on hanging mine on my sump since there is no space in the bottom and it's pretty deep also... Hanging will do.

I have a 20 high sump and would like to add a refugium at some point but with a skimmer in it that will be impossible. That's why I'd like to hang it the skimmer.

If you can afford it go with the deltec mce600 I make the remora pro seem like a seaclone It willcost you around $440 but it is well worth it. These is no hugh ugly pump hanging down in the tank like the remora. You would have to have two or three remora pro's to do the same as the deltec

I use the prism deluxe with the surface skimmer and couldn't be happier. It takes some tinkering with but once you get it set right it works like a charm. I wouldn't use for anything over a 75g. The surface skimmer is nice because it keeps the surface pretty clean and is not overwhelming huge in the tank.
