what kind of skimmer for 54g?

I have a 55 standard and after running a skimmer for years decided to run it without one.

Did this about 5 years ago and my tank looks great. As good as it did with the skimmer.

I don't seem to have any more problems than those that have skimmers- from what I read on this forum.

Do a search on skimmerless tanks before spending money on a skimmer.

Those running skimmerless aren't the oddballs anymore - at least not for that reason!

Did your ORP or oxygen levels change when you went skimmerless?

I have now gone through a few Skimmers due to me not thinking that each one was good enough but after having used the Remora, Prizm and the Seaclone, IMO, they are all very similar and seems that each of them takes a little bit of tinkering to make them work just right. I havent tried any of the expensive skimmers but I have found very little difference in the quality of skimming once each is messed with to the point of getting good goo out of my tank. I will say that I ended up tinkering with the Seaclone the most but in the end, it worked just as good as the next.
