What kind of SPS is this and whats wrong with it??

Picked this up a few months ago for my 112 gallon tall (140ish total system). About 2-3 weeks ago I had to downgrade to a 90 gallon (with no sump). All my livestock survived the transfer and is doing great. As of just a few days ago this little guy has started turning pale at the bottom, not flaking flesh.

The lighting is the same (7 week old, reefbreeders LEDs, blues range from 10-20% power, whites range from 1-15% power, 9 hour photo period). Only difference is that it's about 6" closer to the light fixture, but still overall 26" away from it).

I do weekly water changes with natural sea water. I feed my corals, phytoplankton/cyclops and Kent Marine Coral Accel. Salinity is between 1.025-1.026. Calcium is 460-480. Temperature hangs around 80.

Could A. Batuni or possibly or A. Desalwi, I am not an ID expert though. Desalwis are supposed to be tough to keep I've heard. Is it growing. Someone can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

It is tough to be sure from a small frag, but I would initially guess Acropora aculeus. A few things could be stressing it out. Check the alkalinity and make sure it stays stable, make sure it is getting good water flow, and make sure the phosphates and nitrates are not at a high level. That would be a good start.

thank you for the advise. unfortunately i don't have, nor do i have access to a alkalinity or phosphates tester. nitrates are good. any other ideas or advise. the white is slowly creeping up.

Yes, get an Alk tester ASAP. It is the single most important parameter to keep stable. Failing that get your water tested by a LFS or friend.

I have to agree 110%. i have stressed and killed more coral due to an unstable or incorrect alkalinity parameter. I am not trying to plug any one product but there are some really nice and handy test kits that test Alk, Ca, and Mg all in one package price. The one I have can be done with one hand for all three test.
