What kind of wrasse am I?

I bought this little guy at my LFS, it was just labeled wrasse...I am good enough to figure that out. Any ideas of what kind?

Hard to tell from that picture, but I want to say C. scottorum (Scott's fairy wrasse). Do you have any more pictures of it?

That's the best one I have, he is hanging out in a shaded area of the tank.

It kind of looks a little bit like a flasher wrasse a little. You can't tell in the picture but its dorsal fin has little spike like some flashers have. Everything else looks like a fairy wrasse. I googled Scott's fairy wrasses and it doesnt look like one to me. Plus I only paid like $25 for it.

Kind of looks like an exquisite fairy wrasse... they do have some variation on color (and are not always labelled properly - I once got one labelled just as a "rainbow fairy wrasse").

What about the lines on the head? That made me lean toward the lineatus?

the lines def are indecitive of lineatus, but also pyle looks like this. that could possibly not be a filementation and instead be the outline of the fin and it just fades to blue or purple. I really cant tell. If the op can please take another photo tomorrow then wed have a better shot

Indeed we need a better photo, but the dorsal fin is consistent with filamentosus. The price is also consistent with that.

Ding ding ding, I am pretty sure you got it right. This is pretty darn close to what he looks like. He just needs to work on his flare a little lol
