What LFS stocks 70G Oceanic Tech Tanks?

Anybody see any Oceanic tech tanks at any LFS's recently? I don't think I've ever seen one, but was just wondering if anyone happened upon any.

I'm looking into a 70g tech tank setup.

thanks!

I have seen them in Sunnyvale at Natural Life, in San Francisco at Pet Central/Hung Ming on Broadway, and in Pleasant Hill at All About Fish. I think in all three cases the tank was a 90 gal. They are very nice with Starphire glass and a rim around the top to prevent salt creep. The stands are accessible on three sides to make it easier to work on the refugium or sump. I don't recall pricing because I do not need another tank at this time but the Tech tanks are really impressive.

well i was all set on a 58g oceanic starphire, but then they raised the prices from $670 for a starphire tank to $2365 for the same thing after they moved. =P Might as well get the 70g tech tank that has 3 sides starphire for $610!

strange how oceanic works. I just can't find a LFS that has them in stock at the moment. Mermaid is going to get them in 3 to 4 weeks, so we'll see.

i'm not sure if it's new or not, but it's 36.5" x 18.5" x 25". I only have 37" of space max for a tank, so it's a pretty good size.

hey kinetic, if your willing to take the drive down here to salinas,ca. my friend has one in his recently opened fishstore! 'Ocean's Above' aquarium fish and reef shop here in salinas, ca. monterey county. just a heads up brother....hope this helps.

very cool, but it's a pretty far drive with a 86 toyota truck... unless he hits me with a kickass deal =) About 3 hours to Salinas =/

It's more like 2 hours, unless your driving like a granny :D It's only 5 - 6 hours to LA from Oakland

You may want to take up Carlos on his offer, Oceanic's production line is down right now. If a store doesn't have it in stock, Oceanic is charging one off prices for stock tanks (charging custom tank prices for stock tanks since everything is "custom" right now).

FWIW, Carlos is the man. He's never done me wrong :D

can you guys get me a quote on the tank for me? i'm definately interested in going down there to pick one up =)

I was in there this morning. Give Voo a call, 831-754-2782.

For what it's worth the tech tank is currently discounted for their grand opening. However, it is currently set up with a sump and lights but I'm sure he'll give you a quote for whatever you want.

Ask Voo to take a few more $ off to compensate for the drive.

Hehehe, I was just thinking where I could put that tech tank when he changes his mind again :D

In all seriousness though, I thought you were off to Law School Art, did your plan change ?

haha you guys!

i'm trying for law school / biz school J.D./M.B.A. program =) But this tank will be more movable (relatively) to the basement setup I was going to put together.

I just find it odd that you are constantly selling one project that you were totally excited about, and then moving on to the next almost immediately.

well i had one setup, and then I sold it =/

since then I've just been planning.

that one setup I had two tanks for, but they were the same project =)

Well Art, we can't really say anything as we are now trying to sell the 180 starfire setup we bought last year because our plans changed before we got it set up and running. Now we have a larger tank, a deal that came along that we couldn't pass up, that we are working on getting set up. Each weekend we get a little closer. Hopefully we will get this up and running before something else comes along :).
