i am doing some research on my own tank setup and wanting to see what others use for lights and have the best luck with. my tank will be all lps coral. it is a 180g 72x24x24.

I use 4x 24watt T5s. 2 blue+ and 2 Aquablue+ over a custom 35g. It is 18" tall. All of the LPS love the light, much more than the 250w DE metal halide i had on my old 180g tank.

Yes it's the Sunlight Supply Teklight fixture. The tank is blue-ish, but so is the water at the depth my LPS come from, so it's very natural looking. Heavy on the blue with some white peeking through. MAJOR fluorescence!

I have: Green with pink tip Frogspawn, Brown with yellow tip torch, pink with green tip hammer, white Fox, Red Open brain, Red Blastos, Purple Plate, Pink Acans, Orange and Blue Rhodactis, 2 Sarcophytons, Green Sinularias, Pink Anthelia, Pink Zoas, Orange and red Zoas.

Of course the more light-demanding corals are closer to the top, while the fox, acans, Plate, shrooms and blastos are at the bottom.

I've tried to keep only fish and coral from the Indo-Pacific, namely a deep water reef. So far I've done fairly well. My only deviation is a blue and green Florida Ricordea that was given to me as well as a few blue-leg hermits from my old tank... I couldn't get rid of those guys! Otherwise all fish and coral come from the same place.

My tank is mainly LPS right now (green tipped froggy, candy cane colony, and blue/green candy) and I just upgraded from two coralife T5 double strip lighting (112 watts) to the Aquatics 5 bulb T5 HO fixture on Friday and my LPS have never been happier. Here are some pics of mine:

Mine are really liking the new lighting since I pretty much tripled the amount. I was also looking at the Tek lighting but found a great deal on the Aquatinics in the used forum on here.
