What media to use in the overflow on AP24

I have a few week old Aquapod with live sand, 20lbs of LR and 150W DE MH. It currently is home to a ton of mejanos. I plan to add more of them and one neon dottyback. I currently have in the overflow sponges and bioballs and a MJ1200 return. I want to know what else you all run back there, I dont really like the bioballs as I think I have plenty of bacteria with the LR. TIA

Well what I would do is;
Ditch the bioballs & sponges.
Fill a back chamber with live rock rubble
Use a mesh bag to hold a few spoons of activated charcoal and a spoon or two of PhosGuard in another chamber and change them both out every couple of weeks.
That along with 10% to 20% water changes every couple of weeks has worked well in my NC6 at the office.
