What Mount Did You Have At MACNA 2013?

I forgot to ask... What mount were you guys using at MACNA 2013 to mount multiple Radions? It was the tank used to demonstrate Reeflink. Do you have any pictures of it?

They were over the innovative marine tank as well. I asked them and they sounded like they were working on them for a future product launch. I will need three in November when my new SR120 innovative marine tank arrives so they need to get on it! They are the best looking mounts I have seen for a radion.

Did you see how the mounts were installed? Did they mount to the tank or the stand? Were they adjustable for tanks of varying widths?

It is curved and looked to be metal. It attaches to the rimless tank. I saw two versions. One version was one piece. The second one would allow the radion to rotate up during cleaning.

They were attached to a rimless tank but John C. @ ecotech said they are coming out with a version for rimmed tanks too.

Hope this is cool to post here. I do agree i didnt like the cables being the only way to hang the radions so i made this for $12. 1/2" conduit bent and aluminum bought at home depot in hardware dept. cut using a hack saw. I also added my controller to the top to avoid water spill from destroying it. The lights can be adjusted for height and swung out of the way for servicing the tank.

And a pic with light swung out of the tank opening.

Ca ching - looks like your in business. :celeb3:

Do you happen to have any pictures of how it is mounted to the stand?

You can't hardly see any of the hardware on top of the light unless you're 7 feet tall, and im nowhere near that!

That's a great looking light rack Reefsahoy!

Thanks SoCalDude! It took awhile to think it out and build the fixture. I wanted a simple, clean and easy to remove light from tank for servicing. I personally dont like the cables hanging from the ceiling or from the light stand because it looks too busy.

I asked the Ecotech people and the ones on their displays were custom made by MRC (marine Reef Creations) they are solid acrylic (they do not move). They told me to go to the Innovative Marine booth because they have the ones that Ecotech most likely release. Those are the ones that you could move out of the way.

Both systems are apparently built for rimless tanks because the slide slit they have is thin for the edge. The problem is that I have an All Glass Aquarium tank with a rim for the Versa Tops. I hope that they have a solution for users with tanks that have a rim.
