What One thing to you attribute to GREAT color in your SPS

I know it always comes down to a mixture of things with our tanks. But many of us are tried and true tinkers. We incorporate a ton of different things, and some work, others don't. I want to hear what you think is the best ONE thing that increased color in your sticks.

Why you ask? I want more colorful sticks. :D

I use TLF Acropower once a week. My SPS corals have a good colors. Low nutrients and good lighting is the key too.

The one thing that made my corals color up was steady dosing Alk and Ca and twice weekly AquaVitro fuel.

i just started using polyplabs colors its their new product and i must say i am impressed i have seen a noticeable color change within 2 weeks...

I use their Reefroids daily for feeding but I have not heard of colors. I will look into it.

its a new product and im not sure its readily available yet , but when it is, it really is fantastic, infact polyplab guarantee it will work within 2 weeks.

its pretty potent though requiring 1 drop per 1000L or 250ga and only to be used in ulns...

maybe that explains why I cannot find it online.

A half drop for a hundred gallons seems pretty potent. I wonder what it is? Concentrated ammino or a probiotic? Does it list ingrediants on the package?

They are keeping the ingredient pretty close to theyre chest, but i believe it to be amino based..
After adding to your system polyp extension is crazy!!! i mean insane!!

Ammino based would be pretty odd IMO. I mean, I dose 60mL of Amminos 3x a week in my 120g. So doing half a drop and having that big of an effect would be weird.

I bet it's crack cocaine ;)

You just need to love them.......... why are there no pics in this thread ;)

Aminos have been pretty well proven to work, corals especially sps use them. The problem with aminos is that some are not really beneficial, infact certain aminos can cause issues with browning, stn etc

Biggles are you saying that you dont dose or suppliment anything? and you attribute your success to love and tender care.

I use reef roids regularly and feed the fish lots of mysis, pellets, flake and nori. I treat roids like 'soft' aminos, not as potent as straight liquid aminos but will have the same effects if over used.

Define work... It seems they really only help in low nutrient tanks, and that very well could be simple because they're contributing nitrogen. We believe corals can use them, but we also know they can synthesize their own amino acids, so dosing amino acids may be fairly pointless other than adding some expensive nitrogen to a nitrogen starved tank.

I don't dose or supplement anything other than the occasional magnesium. I feed my fish and run a calcium reactor. I attribute my color to feeding a lot and having a high fish load along with having great lighting and a great skimmer and flow while maintaining proper levels of the big three. If there was one thing that could help us achieve great color then there wouldn't be so many threads about how to get great color :)
