No...and actually 1/2" would not be enough, based on what you wrote... you're stating that the tank will be 4' tall ... Did you mean 2' tall (6'x4'x2') ?

Be afraid ..... be very afraid .... buddy of mine who knows acrylic used 3/4 for a similarly size tank if memory serves.

I would think 3/4 would be my minimum choice. My 96x48x30 is made from 1" acrylic.

Better safe then sorry use 3/4 I used 1/2 for my 2x2x2 cube

+1... For safety 3/4" is fine... I have 3/4" on my 96x40x27"h... 24" tall is even less pressure
