I have the chance to get a interuptus or joculator. Im not sure what one to get becuase they both are GREAT looking fish.

Joculator is probably the toughest Centropyge spp. out there.

Interruptus can be delicate especially if an adult wild specimen.

My suggestion?

Get both.

:D

Get the joculator. If rarity is the main concern, interuptus are becoming more common and are captive raised. Joculators are seldom seen at all - most go to Japan.

Joculator is less frequently available. Interruptus is more intersting looking. Captive bred interruptus are pretty hardy. I dunno the joculator but interruptus can get pretty big for a "pygmy" angel

IMHO the interruptus is a prettier fish. Mine has a great deal of personality and is out frequently. The joculator is more rare and if that is your goal, would make a nice specimen.

You also could purchase a pair of interruptus for what you will probably pay for the joculator. Something to consider if your tank allows.

Hi,

I have both these fish....

The joculator is bullet proof, like said above one of the most hardy and will get about 3-3.5" max...

most joculators come in at about 1.5-2"....

the interruptus is the biggest of all centropyge, reaching 5-5.5" in length...

honestly they are both great fish...

the interruptus atleast in my tank is very personable, like said above.

the joculator is always swimming around picking at the rocks...

i get more "Wows" from the interruptus from people in the hobby and people not in the hobby....

if you want something mega rare the joculator is it, very very few come into the hobby...

the interruptus is becoming more common...

BTW i got both mine from Sedar @ phishybusiness, i assume that's where you are going to get yours from since he is the only one i know bring both in....

if you want a cool idea, get a pair of interruptus that would be sweet!

if you want i can post some pics, let me know.

Nick

Yes please post some pics that would be great.

I have looked at phishybusiness.com, but they dont have any in. A lfs is getting both in at the same price(I beleive). I just have to let them know which one I want. I agree that the interruptus has more color, but I have heard that if you get a big one they are less likely to eat then the smaller ones.. I am looking for something that nobody has so thats why Im looking at these two.

I think Sedar is making an order.... look at his site on the right side... something about pre-orders...

anyway, becareful like others have said, some wild interruptus are tough to get to eat... that's why i like Sedar, he holds them for 2 weeks atleast and gets them eating.....

if you want something no one has then get the joculator, more people have the interruptus....

just get what you like...

here are some quick/bad pics...

(The white spots are not actually on the fish, just something on the glass or a reflection of some type...)

Both fish are really great, both are not scared of me and will follow me around the tank.....
