What Reef Stores are in the Milwaukee Area?

It looks like nobody had added any stores in Milwaukee to this map (although Chicago has it covered) -

It is really a helpful resource for anyone visiting, or someone new (like me) to the area, or when you have an emergency and you need to get to the closest store.

You can link in store websites, and leave your own comments/reviews on that interactive map also.

I know of the places that were here in town when I left 3.5 years ago - but hoping there are a few new ones too :)

I remember things basically being the same when I left, but I thought Hoffer's had a pretty good selection - although my experience in knowing which corals were which and if they were healthy was fairly limited  I know they had a lot of them.

Are they not so good anymore?

I get most of my stuff at www.sharkeysreef.com

They are just over the border around the Gurnee Mills/Six Flags area. Good place if you like LPS or zoa's.

I was there 2 weekends ago and they had some nice Florida Ricordia mushrooms.

It's by appointment only if you want to ever stop in on a weekend.

Hoffers was the best in milwauakee till every tank they have is
badly infested with flatworms. I really hope one day they take
care of that

ummm - how hard is it to get a few 6-lines in there? - sometimes it makes you wonder

Hoffer's has some great bubble algae and aiptasia if you're interested in that kind of thing. In all fairness though, their fish prices aren't too bad, unlike Aquatic Displays.

Well, I'm here now, and may have a new tank to fill soon, so I'll be making my rounds to everywhere, just to see how things are.

congrats, welcome, and good luck
most stores switch to ponds in the summer months

fwi, I do have a 72 bf softy reef I'm trying to sell
to make room for a smaller house
probably 70 lbs of rock and more leather corals than I can shake
a stick at

interested?

If you're looking for corals you might want to try going to Ill. We just got back from sharky's this weekend I think they have more corals than all Milwaukee store put together. Two thumbs up for sharky's. Sho Tanks is 9 miles down the road from there. The trip down there from southside Milwaukee was just an hour. IMO It's a trip worth taking.

awesome advice - I'm no stranger to traveling for quality livestock - When I was in Delaware I usually travelled about an hour to go to Philly or Baltimore to get to the best stores -

Know-it-all - If all goes as planned, I'll be picking up a 120-gallon tank soon, and I'll probably be looking for some rock - I'll pm you my info and so we can chat-
