I've used IO for the past year but I saw that LiveAquaria had RC on sale for $32 bucks a bucket. Since I had to order some new bulbs anyway I decided to give it a try. I'm kinda set in my ways since IO has been good to me over the past year but we'll see if RC can stack up.....:D

The best IMO - Marine Environment, what i use - Oceanic

why do you think its the best, and why are you not using it??

i have seen many tanks before and after pics and it was amazing difference and its testing done on it from what ive found makes it(if mixed correctly) the closest thing to natural sea water. I'm not using it because my lfs's don't carry it and its to expensive to ship - IMO

I'm using a 50-50 mix of instant ocean and oceanic.

What I started using. I like it.

what salt mix has the highest amount of magnesium and calcium? I dont like reef crystals, not helping my calcium....

this poll is kind of useless without people giving their experiences with their chosen salts. why did you guys pick the salts you use? have you ever tested it? for which elements? have you changed brands? how does the old one compare to the new one? how much does your salt cost? where do you buy it from?

Instant Ocean because its so easy to find

exactly... i live next to MD.. so i get to pick and chose from just about every kind of salt...

i use seachem reef

I use oceanic. I started with it and bought a 200 gallon mix. This was in May......I am waiting for it to run out so I can switch to tropic marin. The oceanic does a bang up job IMO. My calcium is always mid 400's, though my ph is around 8-8.1 but Im not blaming the salt its a co2 thing.

The RC on sale at the good docs is tempting though!

I use oceanic, but that is just because it is the least expensive around here. I was going to wait for my bucket to run out, but I kind of like the thought of mixing different salts. How many people have tried this?
