The self-proclaimed world's largest aquarium, the Gergia Aquarium, uses IO. That's what the shirt I got in my RC bucket said.

I think using a brand of salt just because a professional aquarium uses it, should not be reason enough.

For example, all data shows IO is lower in calcium, if you are running a reef tank one would be required to supplement calcium among other minerals.

The idea I'm suggesting is, even though IO can work, it may require additional supplements to be as complete as other salts, and while a professional aquarium/zoo may have the time/money/resources to accurately supplement these minerals, most home hobbyist do not.

SO, does Reef Crystals do well, i mean, would i have to add calcium and all to the water?
All salts are going to require supplementing of CA,Alk, and even perhaps MG. . depending on how many corals, how much rock with coraline, etc. Each day the inhabitants of the tank take up these and other trace elements.
