What sand do you use?

Okay guys,

I am considering two options as my sand choice.

Edens reefflakes or caribsea aragonite.

What do you use? Links please

I put about 5 pounds of sand at a time in a 5 gallon bucket and turn the hose on full flow. Aggitate the sand at the bottom of the bucket until the water runs nearly clear. This generally takes about 4-5 minutes. Yes the sand is good for gobies.

rinsing 4-5 minutes??
Yesterday I was rinsing 20 pounds of aragonite sand and it took well over 40 minutes. I watered the entire back yard in the process (in So Cal I like to 'reuse' the water. . . ). And even then, when I put it in my tank the water became quite cloudy.
Rinse it well. . .

Hi Billy, I'm looking for a house in Islamorada and you are right about no place like the Keys. In the last few years it has changed a lot and mostly for the bad, to many people and trash.

Anybody use dry sand? I am starting up a nano soon and was thinking about dry rock and dry sand.... slow slow cycle but at least I can control exactly what's in my tank?...

Carib Sea special grade. I put one 40 pond bag in two 5 gallon buckets and ran a water house in each one turning over the sand. This took a while but when the water ran clear I rinse it one more time with RO/DI water to rinse away the tap water. This resulted in zero clouding just fresh clean sand.
