What should I do! (pictures included)

So I walked into an LFS today not expecting to really find anything but to my suprise, they had seahorses! A local lady had dropped them off. They looked like decent specimen but I was really worried about the LFS' water quality. I have heard stories of people saying that you should never get a seahorse from any LFS that puts them in the same tank as all other seahorses and fish that they get. And that was the case. So I took a step back and decided to think about it. What do you guys think?

There are both pros and cons.

Pro:
supports local breeder/business
can pick the ones i want
no cross country shipping
I can save about $50 compared to buying them online.

Con:
They are in tanks that housed wild caught horses/kelloggi (in the past)

They are cute, they look healthy . .. go for it.

There might be some bacterial issue or parasite issues but this is true of most seahorses you get these days.

Based on there size and apparent health whom ever raised them knew what they were doing.

I know the breeder that dropped those off... (no it wasn't me) they are very healthy horses and very well cared for. If you are interestesd in some that have not been housed in that fish store then pm me and I will put you directly in touch with the breeder and you can get them straight from the breeder.

haha, yeah it is! Its one of the new m4/3 cameras. The GF1! Picture quality is amazing, just that the tank glass was dirty so thats why the photos aren't as clear.

Its also a bit amazing that I just happen to bring my lumix with me that day for no apparent reason.

lol, I was going to say they look like my erectus I just got but then I noticed that huge dorsal too.

FishGrrl, be my guest! There are PLENTY! 20 total. I would suggest though, to wait for their Salty Saturdays to get 10 percent off. Are northern any harder to raise than southern?

Octoshark, your quite the detective, lol! I love my Lumix btw, build quality is amazing and Panasonic/lumix seems like they are one of the last truly great japanese companies. I'm getting a Panasonic plasma someday . . .

The southern erectus fry are easier to raise than northern as southern fry are benthic.
