What should i feed my eelfish

i purchased him yesterday and im told to feed him dead shrimp. id like to make sure thx.

That looks like a ribbon or ghost eel. Mine loved small gobies and blennies, unfortunately, which is why he did not stay long. Peel the shrimp (raw) and dice into food-sized cubes, but try to feed in tank twilight: mine was nocturnal, and hunted around that time. All I know.

What kind of eel, and how big is it? Way back in the day, the only thing my 4' blue ribbon eel would eat was baby chromis - until it got eaten by my 12" undulated moray. The Undulated would eat anything and everything in the tank.
