My systems is a 55 gallon display with a 30 gallon sump. Running 1 Large sump pump and a skimmer. PC bulbs. In the summer I have seen temp spikes 20 Deg + at least. I would love an Integrated heater or a way for the chiller to control it. THANKS
I think on that size you could get away with a 1/10th if tank conditions are not too hot now. If they need 6 degree pull down or so I would say a 1/6 would do okay.
I actually run a PCI 1/10th on my 90 with 30 gal sump and dual halides and it barley kicks on. I do utilize a 6" clamp on fan on my sump and dual fans in the canopy which help greatly with cooling.
You may want to see if you can use some fans to bring then temps down first as a cheap alternative to chiller cost. Cant hurt anything...
Look at the Artica Series of chillers. My neighbor has one, it's the quietest chiller for it's 1/5 hp rating that I've ever heard. He uses it on a 75. It stays pretty moderate temp wise here in the Allegheny Mtns. But runs into the 90's during the heat of summer. Does fine keeping his tank at 78....
