what size locline?

im gonna be running an eheim 1260 rated at 640gph @ 12' head
in my system it will only see about 3 feet horizontal and about 3 feet vertical.
the return is gonna go thru and hang over the overflow and split into two nozzles. the outlet on the pump is 3/4" NOMINAL, but actually measures 5/8".

what size locline should i be running on my setup 1/2" or 3/4"?

should it be the same size the whole way as in from the bulkhead to the split and out to the nozzle or 3/4" from the bulkhead and then 1/2" from the split?

if i go with 1/2" locline all the way will it be a restriction on my pump going from 5/8" to 1/2", i know its not much difference but i want to run my pump unrestricted and to its potential.

on the flip side if the loc line is to big the pump might produce a much weaker stream?

any help is much appreciated as i am a little lost on what to get

Run the line from the pump to the point of entering the tank as 1in obviously reduced at the pump to fit and then at the point of loc line then reduce from the 1in down to 3/4 loc line u can always drop it down to the 1/2 if its too much......now u have in place the larger Pvc and the connection for the larger loc line if u up grade the pump or need more flow ....always plan ahead its much easier to take a reducer out and change fittings to up it than to rerun an entire plumbing setup....also at the points of reduction use thread by thread not slip u don't want these glued in place....for changing purposes

thanks mrx, i will go with the 3/4" bulkhead/locline
to seal threaded pvc fittings teflon tape is good enough right?

also whats the best nozzle to achieve the broadest stream? i see 3 on brs, straight, flared and round

Use the flared nossel ....yes teflon tape should be used but only once around to twice around the threads and then the paste ....don't over use the tape .....u can overuse the paste and then just wipe off the excess....
