What skimmer for bio cube 29?

So I sold my 200 gallon tank a few months ago and of course I had to get something so I went with a nano. I bought a bio cube and want to get a good skimmer that will work without modification. Is there such an animal? I may go topless in the future if I upgrade lights, but would rather keep it stock for now. Thanks

Think you might be limited if you want to keep the stock hood. I run a deltec mce600 on my Red Sea max 130. Although it is modded very minor ( cut the intake pipe and output back 1 inch). I already had the skimmer in storage, would I spend the money for a new one for my 34 gallon? Likely not as they are not cheap. Does it work? Like a beast.
I think a few members run the aquamax hob, much more cost effective. I'm sure reefwreak will post here pretty sure he runs the same tank as you with retro led hood and an aquamax skimmer. Welcome to nano world, I used to run a sps dominant 120 and am now nano. Miss the big girl but loving the lil fella right now.

Hydor slim skim nano fits in first chamber with a little finesse. Second chsmber no problem. Marine Depot has a good video to show you some others that fit.

You can start off inexpensively with the Aquaticlife 115 skimmer in the first chamber. You can use ReefThuz's magnet mount mod to avoid making ANY modification to the biocube, or you can make a tiny 1/4"x1" cut in the hood and use the stock bracket and mounting parts (that's how mine was set up).

I've now moved on to a Aquamaxx ws-1, which requires me to leave the rear door in the hood open, however it's the first "real" quality skimmer I've seen on a nano.

So with the aquticlife115, you can also close the lid without any problem? I'm thinking of just doing small weekly water changes,but really want a skimmer. Who has that skimmer for sale?

With the AL115, you can close the lid without any problem if you do the magnet mod. The height isn't the issue, it's the mounting bracket. I cut a tiny slit in the top of my hood to let the bracket reach around the top of the tank. The magnet makes it so you don't have to do that. There are suction cups to mount it too, but they're not especially secure.

The AquaticLife 115 is available at many online stores, and if I recall correctly, is about $65. (actually doing a quick google search, Amazon has it for $48, Marine Depot has it for $54, and Drs. Foster Smith have it for $55)

Sure. Nothing fancy. I think I threw a piece of plastic underneath to raise it higher, but it's still a bit wobbly. I should really make an eggcrate stand for it.
