What skimmer is everyone liking these days?

I'm a Reef Octopus guy. I have had several from hang on back to a SRO 8000. Very happy with all of them.
I have a 3 foot high LifeReef with a single mazzei injector. I dont think it works any better than my SRO 8000. Nor any worse.

My new problem. This sump was designed for a discus freahwater tank. My chamber is only 8.5 inches deep. A lot of thesw skimmers run on 9 to 10 inches best. Ive narrowed it down to eshopps s200 or the tunze 9410.

What sump is it? Could you modify it to be deeper?

I had it built locally. I forgot the guys name. I may be able to baffle the sump and create a higher water level. My next problem becomes height under the tank. I can only handle a skimmer thats about 20 22 inches tall. I can move the sump if its needed but would prefer to keep as is. I would have to stretch my two drains about 3ft if i moved the sump.

Gotcha. Maybe go with a shorter, lower rated skimmer and skim wet.

The tunze seems to be a set and forget from reviews Ive watched. Small foot print and trusted brand.

They are beasts
The pumps pull very little wattage

New new 9430 pump tech is insane, the have a floating rotor, the impeller pin whheel has 360 pins, it probably produces more bubbles than anything on the market

I have an older 9430 pump on a euro reef body, one of the best skimmers I’ve ever run

These were the two I was looking at actually. Does yours have the dc pump?

I went with the AC as it draws less wattage and I like simplicity of not having the adjustable controller and DC driver

I found a used 9430. Should be here next week so fingers crossed. Dc pump

I actually had one in the past idk the model and I also was not happy. With my sump restrictions this seems like my best bet. I read and watched a ton of stuff. I have seen nothing but positive reviews on this model 9430 and 9415.
