What soft corals should I get?

I have a 180 gallon reef tank under 3 Kessils. I've mainly been into zoas but I want to turn my tank into more of a soft coral tank. Any recommendations or favorite soft coral you guys have? Thanks

I like the green nepthea and sinularia. Large photosynthetic gorgonians and large sarcophytons.

I really like toad stools and anything that has a bunch of little polyps that extend out of it. I saw some cool leathers online but I have no idea the names of them.

my softy tank consists of mainly leathers.. 4 or 5 different toadstools, couple devils hands, many cabbage leathers color varriants, numerous photosynthetic gorgonians, numerous mini maxis, mushrooms and z&ps... even a few nps like carnation corals and chilli corals

Green nepthea, toadstools, anthelia, rare mushrooms, blue sympodium, large colts, etc.
There are thousands of soft corals to choose from, go with whatever you like.

Check out Hallzoo's tank for a really nice collection of softies. I've been admiring his tank on another forum and he just posted his tank on here under the new sticky at the top of the soft coral forum. One of the nicest collections of softies I have seen.

I have leathers. They are pretty nice and some even glow in the actinic light. I also have a new star polyp that is pretty nice and easy to take care of. STAY AWAY from the waving hand. I started with that and now its a dilemma. (Just doesn't die as easily as the rest. Even if you tried) Just my advice! Good luck with your choice!

I agree with all of the above, I have a very green Nepthea that adds a lot of color and movement to the tank. I have found with a lot of leathers in one tank, running carbon helps when they start to release toxins and fight.

Do the toxins affect the fish as well?

No not at all. The different leather species use toxins when they get to close together to kinda fight. In my tank at least, the carbon gets rid of what is released and they stay full and open, even the ones close together.

I really like yellow fiji leathers. If you get one, do an iodine dip as they frequently come in with bacterial infections.
