What sump size for a 240g cube?

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a 240g 4'x4'x2' cube tank to replace my 120g. I've never really been good with planning plumbing and would like some advice about what size sump I need to accommodate this monster:) I have a 40breeder with 3 baffles. Current return is a MAG 9.5 as I currently have a single overflow. I'd like to gather opinions on Sump size? Glass or acrylic?
Return pump size? 1 or 2 pumps? Internal or external? The tank is going in the basement, so heat is not a concern, and it will be all LED lighting.
Thanks for any help. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed!!!!!

I am in the process of finishing My 240 cube... I am plumbing it for 2 75's and a frag tank.... One 75 will be a cheato/fuge.... the other will be the return and mechanical filtration. I am using a dart for the return as well as a dart for the closed loop with an oceans motion 4 way. The frag tank is a 38 with frag racks.

It all depends. Need more info on your setup. Are you limited to the space under the stand or are you going to have the sump in another room? For sumps I always go with bigger the better, as big as space will allow. I also like the idea of having a sump for equipment, and sump just for a fuge and a frag tank. They add volume to the system and keep everything clean and easy to work on. You also of coarse want the sump to be able to handle any water that will siphon from the main tank in case of a power failure or a return pump failure.

I am limited to space under the stand. I will not be having a fuge or frag tank, so I would like something that simply holds equipment, is fairly quiet in terms of splashing water, and can handle water volume in case of a power outage. Tank will be SPS dominated with some LPS and shallow sand bed. I have 4 MP40s for internal tank water movement, and plan on putting them all on the back wall to allow for 3 sided viewing. The tank is rimless, with no canopy, so there will be significant evaporation. I planned on having another small tank in the stand to use as an ATO. HTH.

Go with the largest sump you could fit, you will not regret it. I would do a 40" x 26" x 18" in your set up.

ReeFlo Snapper/Dart Hybrid, converted to the Dart. Since you are doing 4 MP40s for internal flow, theres no need for a closed loop pump.

What skimmer will you be using?

That sump size sounds great, bigger than the 40b I'm using now. I'll look into finding one. I've been researching reflow all day, and was looking at the Blowhole, but the dart/snapper is probably a better option. I still have my ATB 840 which will probably do ok for a while. I've got 6 radions ready to go as well. No calcium reactor, but I use a BM Doser for now.. I'll see if it hold up. Thanks for the answers so far, I appreciate it.

I don't think you will find a sump with those dimensions or anything similar.

I strongly encourage you to have your LFS or your/a tank builder build you a custom one.
