what tank is better?

TANK0789

In Memoriam
Its 120 one is 4feet by 2feet and 2feet high the other is I think 5feet by a foot or foot and a half. I hope to have couple tangs and a trigger along with an eel. Does it make a difference?

If you want Tangs then go with the 5ft tank, they need maximum amount of swimming space you can provide. If you can, go with 6ft depending on what Tangs you want to keep? But for Eels, a deeper tank is better because they can escape easily and triggers get big so both length and depth are needed.

It's a hard choice: if only one is reef ready go with that. But tangs swim up and down as well as longwise, and among other fish you get more jumpers in a shallower tank. I'd say to support tangs well, get some strong flow in there, and a good skimmer and maybe a fuge for good oxygenation. Which is a way of saying the stand might make a difference too, in what you had room to do under the stand.
