What Tank Size is a good medium?

It is just sooo easy to play the 150 is only x amount more money than the 125 game, easpecially with other people's money.

Yeah I am not in a rush and slowly getting in to a bigger tank. So right now just watching and am really looking for a rr because my 45 is not and I am running on a cnaister which isnt bad but I know if I go bigger not sure I would do canister and would probably go with a sump. In the 45 I used man made and did do a longer cycle because all the rock was manmade except for a few pieces to seed. Would probably do the same with the bigger tank and just go slow I rushed in to the 45 which I knew I was going to do since I had one and my ex sold it and I wanted back in the hobby. But i learned and am going to take things slowly.

The best size tank is the one you can be happiest with and maintain for the longest time. I know that sounds cliche, and possibly not very helpful, but I don't think what works for me, or post number six, or eight, or twelve (picked you all at random, sorr!), etc. is necessarily going to be best for you. In tanks over 90g I think 120 and 150 are the most popular. If I had to guess why, this would be that tanks larger than that start to get cost and space prohibitive in the sense of shipping, storage, placement in your home, office, etc.

Great point, when you get above 150 is when you get into the massive skimmers, massive amounts of light, big pumps, etc. The tank is not the item that kills you in the cost department. Those oversized items for giants tanks kill the wallet. The equipment for upto 150g or maybe 180g is still in the more comercial mass production range, and is therefor cheeper.

+ 1 on the 120 g! i am getting supplies ready to set up my 120g. the 125 and 180g are nice also but if you only have 5 feet of wall then the 120g is ideal:)

If you have to decompress while returning to the surface, it might be too big. LOL I have a 110 tall, but I can say, I don't like deep tanks now.

lol not looking forward to swimming with my fishes. i am thinking maybe about a 90 but i will have to wait and see how the wallet looks. the 45 is nice but limited and small on some fish. I think I will just look and see what I can come across.
