What the heck is this thing? about scard the crap out of me. I was doing some mantanance at night and saw this massive amount of what I thout was hair. I went to move it and it squirmed like a starfish. 100's of massivly long tentacles. I put it in a plastic baggie and starting taking pictures when I noticed a head came out. My camera just couldnt get up close enough but this thing looks and acts just like an eel. Even opens and closes its mouth like one. It is wicked looking. It measures approx 3 inches long and the head is about the size of a ball point pin tip. Anybody got a clue as to what it is??????

Spagetti worms are in the polychaete family Terebellidae and the tentacles are only at the anterior end. This one is in family Cirratulidae, commonly known as hair worms. Their tentacles occur all along the body. They can get up to several inches long. All cirratulids are harmless, beneficial deposit feeders.
