I'm trying to get a clarkii out of my tank for the last several hours...Besides a .45 Kimber, trying to feed and swoop, can anyone give me ANY suggestions on getting this without throwing my toaster in the tank!

You can lower the water level in the tank to a half foot, scoop out a hollow in a corner and keep pumping. If you have a big pump and move fast (and delicately) you can avoid damage to corals or rockworks. Pump water back in as soon as you've netted the culprit, and immediately test for water quality and take any corrective measures needed, like temp use of a particulate filter, etc. Brief air exposure usually won't damage corals.

I had to catch mine at night while he was in his anenome. Kinda wish I would have kept him but I like my tomato too. They see very well so either no lights or a clear container.

Yeah, there is no anemone...It took a turn for the worse one day...Still don't know what happened...Clear container might work well.

Thanks!

cut the top off a soda bottle and attach it to some string. Leave it in the tank for about an hour then feed over it. When the clown is over it pull it up. I tried this method for a sixline, and he was to fast for it but I caught my clowns about fifty times. I also bought a breeder cup from petsmart and busted out some of the side vents so the fish could swim in. I then added some sinking pellets to the bottom, and left it their for a while. once he is used to it he will swim in and then be quick and pull it out.

Take a large clear plastic container, the type with a screw on lid that carbon/magnesium/etc. come in work great. I drill a couple small holes in one side and stick the suction cups from maxi-jet powerheads in the holes. I drill another hole, big enough to put food through, and small enough so the fish can't get through it. I use acrylic tube to put food through the hole.

Stick the container to the glass, add some food - winner, winner, fish dinner. Put a net over the mouth when it goes in to eat. Works every time for me.
