This has been growing on my blasto for months. It changes size but remains. Any comments?

If you don't know what it is and nobody else knows what it is... I'd say frag it and sell it on ebay.

Flavid, blasto, could be your Aunt Millie for all I know, what the heck is it? Asked a couple lfs owners to no avail.

It's faviid for sure. Is the tumor hard? It looks like some sort of hyper or neoplasia, kind of akin to a cancer growth / big mass of cells that can grow rapidly (in comparison to normal growth) after damage or infection. Hard to tell what it is for sure. But, man, that's huge.
Back for a 2nd glance. Not neoplasia; too much structure to the growth and it doesn't seem to be destroying the surrounding nonaffected polyps. Hyperplasic growth will retain some structure.

I think I have popped it while siphoning off stuff. It kind of deflates some then comes back.
It was not there when I aquired it and has changed size, it both varies from larger to smaller.
I would describe it more like a blister. Its soft and watery. Sort of an extension of the tissue. If you look hard you can see that it is the same tissue, just streched out.

Yep, fresh look this morning. Soft, just like the tissue of the polyps, right? Hyperplasia. Not much you can do, as far as I know... May eventually kill the coral.
If interested, there's an Austrian guy, Antonius, who has done some very interesting research on destruction & disease of coral / reefs.

This same thing happens to my closed brain. Somedays it blows up like it is going to pop, then on otherdays it deflates. The coral is healthy and I've had it for two years so I leave it be.

To answer the question I will refer you to Eric Borneman's book "Aquarium Corals" Pages 377-378.
I quote" ABNORMAL GROWTHS
Abnormal growths are occasionally seen on various species of stony corals and gorgonians. Although commonly described as tumors, some of these are true neoplasms(uncontrolled proliferation's), while others are areas of localized accelerated growth(hyperplasms) or tumorous lesions growing in response to algal or fungal agents."
He also states on page 378 " There are no known cures for abnormal growths, but these are seldom reported as the cause off coral loss in aquarium settings."
This book is an indispensable tool for hobbyist. I recommend purchasing it for anyone with live corals.
