Aiptasia, they will sting corals and it spreads rapidly. Either gouge it out, inject it with vinegar or cover it with kalk paste.

I don't get how aiptasia is just everywhere. I don't think I have a single LFS that I can't find some in. When starting my new tank i visited 3 LFS looking for some live rock to seed my cured rock and every one of them had nasties in their live rock bins (to be fair one I didnt see aiptasia just grey slime mold which i assumed was bad but they also have bubble algae outbreak all over the store). the idea of these stores selling aiptasia rock to new reefers really bothered me and i left not very happy.

I went to a large well kept public aquarium recently and was amazed at the hundred of thousands, maybe millions of aptasia on the resin corals (fake corals) and other ornaments used in the displays. All I could think of is if they'd toss in a few copper band butterflies they'd probably look like clown fish within a month having eaten themselves into a stupor. Seriously, it's amazing how aggressive that stuff is. And yeah, you're going to deal with aptasia if you deal with anything salt water. It's just one of those things. Nothing to get excited about, just meet it head on when you see it. Personally I have a couple of aptasia in my clownfish tank but really don't care. I kill them when they get too big, or put the rock where the copper band can get to it. Either way they eventually disappear.

once everything is cycled look into buying a peppermint shrimp or 2. they'll assist you in ridding apstasia from the system.

How can you get aiptasia in a tank that no live rock was bought from an lfs? I used base rock. I presently don't have aiptasia....can buying corals from an lfs cause an outbreak?

yes, I have purchased many a frag that had an aiptasia or two on the plug. when they shrink down it is very hard to see them.

FWIW I think aiptasia would grow in a salty mud puddle.
