I still think it might be a sea cucumber of some sort. The measurements just don't add up for a snail IMO. Something else...

You should be able to tell from the poop. Stick your hand in there and crumble a loaf with your fingers. If it's sand, it's a cuke, if not, you just squished snail poop.
