What the heck is this.

I have this purple sometimes brown! Thing growing on my rocks. It looks like it's encrusting the rock. It has little tiny hairs not a lot and not moving but they are there if you take a close look someone help identify this I'm guessing it's sps because it turned people after going for IO to reef crystals.

looks like sponge. touch it and see if it feels rubbery

I will touch it as soon as I get home . But it changes color from purple to brown and vice versa. Also it seems like the edges are white like if it's growing.

I check and it's hard as a rock lol no pun intended. Now we are talking about the thing on the left of the brown polyp

Yeah that looks like plain old sponge to me. Don't push it to hard.

I'll take your guys word for it. Never seen such a hard sponge though. The polyps on the right are a goniopora that I have had since I bought the rock it was a tad baby the size of my pinky fingers nail. They grow so slow! Well thanks for the responses guys.
