What the heck is this?

Squidly 1968

New member
Has anyone seen anything such as this. I'm relatively certain it's not aiptasia. It appears to be more like a colonial soft branchlike coral. Semi-porous in appearance with a small bulb on it's tips , waving in the water column, and almost translucent or white in appearance. This LR is nearly 2 years in the tanks, and nothing new added (livestock or other).

I'll try for better pic tomorrow...

Thanks!

Hmm, you are the first to discover a new species!!! Call it the Squidly! :D

Hard to tell from the picture, but I don't think I've seen one before. It's fun what you find on LR even after a few years. I found a sweet rock anemone after a couple of years once, and thought that was pretty cool.

:edit:
Actually, it might be a sponge now that I look a little closer.
