Ok, i've overreacted, actually i need an ID. :lol2:

We got one additional Scarlet Hermit Crab. This was two or three weeks ago.
After the first 10 minutes in the tank, the guy disappeared and since then, i didn't saw him back in the main tank. Today we started wandering where the poor creature could be and we found him in the overflow area, so i picked the grabbing tongs and released him. Then i took picture. What was my surprise to see his eyes' tips are red.
If i'm not wrong, they are supposed to be light yellow (as on our other hermit), so, is it a Scarlet or it's something else?

scarlet hermit crabs definatly have a yellow face. not sure what this guys is but he's sure cute. hopefully he's safe for your tank.

i havent seen any like that but i doubt u have anything to worry about as long as u have enough food for him to eat. mine like to kill my snails and steal their shells but they all do that

It's definately something else. It kinda looks like it could be Calcinus tibicen to me, but is hard to tell from the picture because the legs and claws are burried in the substrate. I've gotten a few shipments of "Scarlet Hermit Crabs" (Paguristes cadenati) with a few Calcinus tibicen crabs mixed in from time to time.

Thanks a lot, everyone! Will try to take better pictures, so the identification to be easier.

rowjimmy, i've googled "Calcinus tibicen" and and by the pictures, it does not looks like mine crab. The very end of tip on the eyes looks white, the one in my tank is compleatly red.
