What to do to keep organized?

Im sure we all can relate(well most of us), wires hanging everywhere, controllers plug strips just every part of hardware in the way. What do YOU all do to rid this problem(where do you put it how does it look anything special to a certain setup for wireing or anything?) Please show pictures of your hardware setup and your behind the scene setups from you tanks.

following a power cord from upstairs to the basement is fun!

I'm not the neatest most organized person... nor the messiest.
Nylon twist ties and labelling each power cord can help you avoid a wiring nightmare... or at the very least keep it somewhat under control.

mine is a messy pile of power cords... but I do have all the different components on separate power strips. The return pump/skimmer/heater on one, power heads on another, and lighting on another.

zip ties, coil wire by twisting it onto itself, and labels!

small sample of what is probably miles of wires I put in at a friends house:

Depends on the situation, I use all sorts of things for wire management. I agree that a label maker is an awesome investment, not just for wires in your aquarium. I use a combination of zip ties, wire ties, and velcro depending on the applicatoin. The more permanent stuff, zip ties, semi perm wire ties, and the loosely associated, velcro. Velcro is also cool in that you can get some pan head screws and go through the velcro to secure it to a surface. Of course if it's near seawater you'll want some SS screws, but it's a great little fast/easy trick for a wire bundle screwed into something.
