what to do with my tanks

altho I,m not a member, maybe someone has some ideas. I live on the bay and lost all my tanks to sandy. reef tanks, frag tanks and freshwater. I replaced 1 75 freshwater planted and 1 55 reef[tampa bay saltwater package] now 3 years and a few more small floods we have deceided to bite the bullet and raise the house. everything has to go into storage for 6 months.so, is there a way to save everything, or do I just give all the livestock away and start all over again?

There's really no reasonable way to keep everything in storage alive for that long. You could dry the rock out, clean it, and put it in storage though. Of course it wouldn't be live anymore... I'd just sell the livestock and start over.

Id dry all the rock and sell off all the livestock. On thing with the corals is you could split all of them into two or three pieces and keep track of everywhere they go. Make a deal with the people you sell them to. "I'll give this to you at a really low price with the idea that when I start my new tank you give me back a good size frag"

That way you are growing your same corals again. And by splitting them up into multiples of each and dispersing them you are guaranteeing their survival no matter what happens to individual tanks.

thanks for the replies. the whole idea was really about the rock. this was collected and shipped direct in water, this rock is really live. covered in corals and sponges and live clams.and still alive and thriving after 3 years.of course, I could always tell the wife to leave instead............................
