what to do? yellow watchman goby

I bought a yellow watchman goby about a month ago. Saw him for the first few days when I would feed the tank, then he vanished. He was really small. Haven't seen him for a month.*

Should I buy another one? I am thinking he died. Idk. I don't want to cause a fight either if he is alive somewhere. But I haven't seen him for a month.

Kind of a tough call. Mine has gone MIA for quite awhile when he was smaller. If your convinced he is gone then get one or give it some time to turn up. My luck is I get a new one then the old one shows up and the fighting starts.

Mine would hide all day and only come out to eat. How big is the tank? He could just have a great hiding spot. I haven't seen my pistol shrimp since I got him awhile back but at least I can hearing him popping off.

I've had one turn up again after 3 months, but since they fight rivals of the same species with the intensity of fighting-fish, I wouldn't put one in or you may find both going at it to the death.

Do you have a good lid? I was surprised how well they jump for living on the bottom.

I bought a second one after mine was missing for a few months.. then I found both of them after half a year... My 100gal is big enough for two. Depending on your size, you might want to wait it out a little longer. they do not like each other in the tank
