so what do you guys feed your sps? so far i have just been mixing up some cyclopeze... can figure out what to get . please give your diet

Oyster-Feast, frozen Cyclop-eeze, and Zeo AA's for me. ;)

Roti-Feast and DT's Oyster Eggs are also excellent from what I've heard.

I feed mine mostly with... NP Biopellets.

No seriously, using NPBP for over a year and all my SPS's been showing incredible PE even during the day, I'm pretty sure my tank is filled with bacteria growing from the NPBP and that's what my corals' been feeding on.

I even have a small frag of leather coral growing on the bottom of a piece of live rock, that was left behind when I removed the mother colony. It received absolutely NO light and it's still thriving and growing steadily. It's sustained by feeding on the bacteria alone.

There's also a thin film of bacteria on top of the water inside my overflow chamber, that I had to manually remove every couple of days. I've hardly feed them with anything else now, except a little Reefpearls once every 2 weeks.

i use reef snow, coral frenzy, freeze-dryed phyto, and fish poo. Im going to have to look into the DT's and oyster feast.

could you share your PO4, nitrate, cal & Alk numbers? How long you been running biopellets? Also sounds like you are not having your NPBP effluent dump right at skimmer feed? What volume of NPBP and how much water do you have?

Thanks,

Probably one of the best things you can feed them is newly hatched brine shrimp. I recommend decapsulating them first, since decapsulated cysts will still be readily accepted if the young don't hatch.

Feed at night, a few hours after lights out or early morning before lights on.

Cheers
Mike

Depending on the day, i feed roti feast, oyster feast and coral snow. All at night when lights are out.

i feed elso pro skimmer and the aminos for sps specific food. those are daily. frozen rotifiers and oyster feast when im not feeling lazy.

So do you have to feed them or just having lights on them will do? some one siad they get most of their food form the light.
