Hello,

First off let me say hello, we are new to the sw hobby and we hope to be in this for many years to come (already we are planning of at least doubleing our tank size lol). anyway the thing i am wondering is this. We got a decorator crab today because after looking at him knew he was just what we wanted, he has tons of corals stuck all over him and comeing right out of the middle of his back like a volcano erupting is what we were told is "some sort of anemone" (thank you helpful lfs staff lol) so what i am wondering is what type of anemone this is. Sorry the pics are not too good...i tried my best to enhance them lol

I know im sorry, i tried to zoom into the second 2 and it did barely anything lol, i mainly put those up to see if anyone was familiar with the pattern from that angle...

A guess based on what you described, would be a ball anemone. Do a google search on them to see if they match descriptions with what you have. They are small, non-photosynthetic, and not harmful in any way to your crab or your tank. They can/will spread, but not in plague-like proportions of majanos or aiptasia. And since they generally will pop up in the dark areas of your tank, no risk to your corals and it will give the "dead spots" some cool life.
