what type of anenome?

Can someone please help me with choosing an anenome for my marroon clown. I heard that either a carpet or bubbletip would be best. Any ideas on which? Thanks

What size tank?
How long has it been set up?
Do you have a sand-bed?
What are your parameters?
What lights do you have?

FYI -- An E. Quadricolor (( BTA )) is a natural host for maroons.

Yes, BTA is the only natural host for maroons, though they are known to take to other species of anemones in tanks.

So you have 4*65 watt PC's over a 72" long tank? If that is correct, that isn't going to be, IMO, enough light; enough for an E. Quadricolor.

any other suggestions? Or what type of lighting would be possible? I'm still pretty new to this and just started adding fish on March of this year

The tank sounds cool for most nems if you were to bump your lighting.
Maroons seem pretty quick to take about any nem, natural or not.
Can you add another light fixture, maybe some T5's?

Well, your compacts are already somewhat outdated, some may say halides are next in that line.
T5's and LED combo would be/is my preference/what I use.
If you went all LED it would need to be a quality unit, and those are not cheap.
I also base my lighting on what nem I wish to keep, BTA's are more forgiving, most others need very strong light, and type of light may depend on whether a sand dwellar, needing light penetration at a deeper level, or rock dwellar, not quite as much depending on species.
Read nem FAQ sticky above for more info.

A bubble tipped anenome would be the first preference because clowns have been known to host in them and even suck on the tenticles. In fact, my own golden striped marroon spawn in my wbta in just weeks. Carpet anenomes can be harmful to other corals and fish. There tentcales stick on to almost anything they touch!
