What type of RODI unit do you use?

Check out the filter direct units on ebay, get the 85 gpd unit, the 110 has a lower rejection rate (it doesn't remove as much stuff/TDS)

i bought the typhoon III and i'm very happy with it.

IMO, the only difference between the high end units and the filter direct units is stuff like 100% john guest speedfittings instead of jaco fittings.

The speedfittings are nice if you are planning on rewiring your ro unit but for the 99% of people who will never bother to do anything except change the filters they are completely unneccesary.

Another difference is the clear cannister housing which is pointless for any filter except the prefilter (the carbon filters look the same new or overused while the prefilter will get dingy looking. This is a great indicator of when it's time to change all three).

For $130 you can get the full rig with water storage tank for drinking water (absolutely neccesary if you don't want to wait 30minutes for a glass of water) and everything else you need. Put the additional money you would have spent into replacement filters =)

If I had to do it over....I'd still buy Spectrapure. The clear housing and better fittings are a must for me. The customer service has always been second to none. The best thing about Spectrapure is each and every RO membrane is tested before its sold.

If you start with bad water then your off to a bad start.

I need to find a better membrane, my 3 year old filterdirect gets the water down from 450 to 4-5 ppm (99%). I also have a aqua fx that can only get it down to 30ppm (94%) and a new filter direct 110gpd unit that can only do 50ppm (90%).

I'm gonna try to get a 85gpd replacement but filterdirect changed brands, can anyone recommend a membrane with a 99% rejection rate?

Filmtec TFC 75 GPD..................98%..............your DI should take your tds to 0.................... http://theh2oguru.zoovy.com/product/TW301812-75
